As the SENCO, you will play a vital role in coordinating and supporting the school's provision for pupils with special educational needs (SEN). This is a fixed-term position, ideal for a dedicated and knowledgeable professional looking to make a positive impact in a nurturing environment.
- Develop and implement the school's SEN strategy and policy.
- Coordinate SEN provision to ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to assess and address individual pupil needs.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting children with SEN.
- Manage Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and liaise with families to foster strong home-school partnerships.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant SENCO qualifications or experience.
- Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEN policies, frameworks, and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with pupils, families, and staff effectively.
- A proactive and empathetic approach to meeting the needs of all learners.
