Finance and Payroll Officer
FryerMiles are delighted to be partnering with a leading school in High Wycombe to assist with their recruitment of a Finance and Payroll Officer on a permanent basis. This role will be during school term times and will be working 41 weeks per year.
Responsibilities
* Supervise the school's finance team
* Assist school SLT with figures or data as required
* Post all purchasing card transactions on receipt of supporting documentation from schools, chase down receipts where not readily provided, and reconcile credit card control accounts
* Input accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy, ensuring nominal coding is in line with the DfE chart of accounts
* Process staff changes in the payroll system, entering new starters and terminating contracts for leavers
* Undertake monthly payroll reconciliation in the budgeting system, investigate discrepancies, and take ownership for seeing those through to resolution
* Produce monthly management accounts and present outcomes to the Director of Business Services
* Assist the Heads of Departments/Key Stages in managing their budgets by producing monthly information, highlighting variances, and assisting them in establishing reasons
* Produce financial reports for the Director of Business Services on presentation of finances to their Local Academy Committees
* Provide training to school budget holders on how to use the finance system
* Arrange the collation of financial and payroll data required for internal scrutiny
* Assist with external audit queries
* Ensure that all processing procedures are in accordance with the Trust's Financial Procedures Handbook and the Trust's Scheme of Financial Delegation
* Plan, organise, and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the school's financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner
* Support other finance team members with trip finance, ParentMail, and invoices

* Relevant experience in a similar finance position
