As a Mental Health Recovery/Support Worker (overnight helpline), you will provide crucial support to individuals affected by mental illness, helping them regain confidence and engage in daily social and work activities. You will work closely with individuals to help them achieve personal goals and access the necessary resources on their recovery journey.
The Rethink Black Country 24/7 service offers a free helpline for people in the Black Country (Dudley, Wolverhampton, Sandwell, and Walsall) who need urgent mental health support. Please note that this is an overnight position, with working hours from 12 AM to 8 AM.
Our team of trained mental health professionals answers calls and provides personalized responses based on the caller’s needs. These responses may include:
* Active listening and guidance
* Practical support suggestions
* Crisis de-escalation
* Encouragement to explore self-help options
* Referrals to community-based resources
* Onward referrals and follow-up calls, if necessary
While our initial focus is to avoid the need for clinical intervention, we work alongside NHS clinical staff who can step in when required.
