Our consultancy division has existing working relationships with local authorities in the areas of Hampshire and Berkshire. We are working on the design, construction, maintenance and repairs of existing buildings within local authority property portfolios.
We have recently been successful in securing another local authority Building Surveying Framework Contract throughout Surrey. Planned capital expenditure is crucial for our client and we ensure that their projects are successfully delivered.
With this exciting opportunity ahead of us, we are looking to strengthen our Building Surveying London, South/South East teams headed from our London Office.
The role – Senior Building Surveying
required to provide surveyor and project delivery building surveying services in the Surrey region.
Our service offering tends to focus on regional and national programmes of work involving significant size and scale, working with both private and public sector clients. The offering includes;
1. Programmes of survey instructions that include Condition, Planned Preventative Maintenance, Dilapidations, Investment Due Diligence and Defect surveys.
2. Programmes of Refurbishment and Maintenance Project Delivery / Management and Contract Administration commissions.
3. Specialist services to include Party Wall and Bank/Fund Monitoring.
Your role and responsibilities could include:
4. Preparing feasibility studies and recommendations.
5. Scoping, estimating and presenting reports.
6. Undertaking surveys, design and specification services.
7. Respecting and help delivering services in accordance with best practice (and all legislation) in relation to asbestos, health and safety etc.
8. Preparing a timely and effective post contract administration and final account agreement.
9. Taking personal responsibility for service delivery.
10. Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
11. Working with senior surveyors, associate directors and directors to construct bids for new work.
12. Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the internal database.
13. Assisting with new technology for data capture and reporting
14. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the consultancy business of Mace across all sectors
The requirements
Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include:
15. Previous building surveying experience in a consultancy environment
16. Technical knowledge and competency in building surveying.
17. Good negotiation, presentation and report writing skills.
18. Strong IT skills.
Qualifications
·A degree in Building Surveying or equivalent.
·Professional memberships i.e. MRICS/RICS. (Not essential)
