Our client is a leading engine development company, who is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to provide technical support to their engine test facility in Cambridgeshire.
We are looking for applicants with experience in the maintenance of mechanical plant from an automotive or process lead manufacturing background. The experience necessary to carry out this role are as follows:
* Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or Qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent and/or relevant job-related experience.
* Must have a thorough knowledge of maintenance processes and tools, machine shop operations, equipment, and processes plus familiarity with materials and quality objectives.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings and schematics.
* Fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic systems or Fuel Systems.
* Laser alignment of rotating equipment.
* Electrical 19th edition qualification beneficial.
If successful, the responsibilities for the role are as follows:
* All aspects of mechanical maintenance including breakdowns, planned works, and Total Preventative Maintenance working individually and among a diverse team.
* Respond to requests to install, fault diagnose, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including understanding and the use of schematic and detailed circuit drawings.
* Provide the installation of all service systems including but not limited to; Compressed air, Process water, Chilled water, Low pressure hot water, diesel fuel, and all associated components.
* Once established in the role, to pick up breakdowns at the facility.
* This role is 90% hands-on with tools, and 10% more admin going to meetings across the facility.
* Updating schedules, schematics, and working with other engineers and technicians on site. Updating key reports.
Rate: £23.65 per hour PAYE
Duration: 12 months renewable contract
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Hours: Mon - Fri 7:30-16:15 with every other Friday off.
