What skills and experience we're looking for
The Social Sciences Department is an established team including Health and Social Care, Childcare, Psychology, Criminology, Law and Business Studies. We deliver Health and Social Care with an enthusiastic approach, introducing the subject in Year 9. This is a popular subject in KS4 where we offer BTEC Level 1 and 2 in Health and Social Care. We then have a natural progression onto the BTEC level 3 Diploma or extended certificate within our successful sixth form.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Social Sciences to join our team, to teach Health and Social Care but with the flexibility to teach other social science subjects when required, as we continue on our journey to providing an outstanding education for all in our care. Weare looking for someone with character, who has the highest standards and ambitions, and the drive and determination to ensure the department and our students flourish beyond what they thought possible.
The successful candidate will have a strong and secure knowledge of the GCSE curriculum in Health and Social Care and a background in other social science subjects would be beneficial. They will be able to maintain and build on a culture of success where all feel valued and proud of their achievements.
