Our Cookery School is located on Hookstone Chase, Harrogate where customers learn new culinary skills through courses and demonstrations, but also as a place in our community to enjoy a hands-on cooking experience and learn about healthy, nutritious food and careers. An opportunity has arisen in our Cookery School and we are looking for a Course Assistant who will be responsible for the smooth preparation of all Bettys Cookery School courses, working alongside another Course Assistant and as part of a small team. You will deliver exceptional customer experience which includes independently cooking a high-quality hot lunch for the delegates and ensuring all ingredients, refreshments, service areas and course materials are prepared to timescales. You will support the running of the course by providing assistance to the Tutor when needed. We need to ensure our customers receive outstanding customer service, which exceeds their expectations and to Bettys’ standards. This is a part time role working 16 hours over 2 days, working Fridays and Saturdays. This role is fixed term for 12 months, covering a maternity. About you You will have experience in a catering role in a kitchen environment and making recipes at scale and you will work to good food safety and health and safety practices. Experience in baking, patisserie, meat and fish preparation is desirable. You will possess excellent customer service skills. Our customer is at the heart of everything we do, we always strive for excellence in customer care and service. You will work to high standards with attention to detail, following processes, sell by dates, producing high quality of food. You will have strong organization and time management skills and be able to multi-task and work to tight deadlines, remaining calm under pressure. You will work well as part of a small team and work alongside another Course Assistant.
