Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN to join our healthcare team during the evening/ night shift hours (typically 6pm-6am). The position of the PRN at the Orchard Recovery works with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to provide care, monitor health conditions, and administer medicine to residents ensuring top service and safety. Nurses will assist with the physical/ emotional treatment of patients, educating patients on their treatment plans/ medications, etc. Additionally, this position calls all medications into the pharmacy and assists/ collaborates with all other departments as needed.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Job Duties and Role Responsibilities:
Resident Care:
* Perform patient assessments and medical screenings at admission and monitor patient's status and provide care throughout treatment.
* Assess detox needs and monitor residents for withdrawal signs, symptoms, and checking vital signs.
* Assist physicians with developing individual treatment plans and implement and monitor those plans (vitals; detect changes in symptoms, health, and/or pain, etc.).
* Administer Urine Analysis tests, draw blood when necessary, and report results of employee and residents’ screens.
* Take patient samples/ transport samples to appropriate destinations.
* Assist doctors with any procedures/ examinations.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Communicate clearly and directly with patients; provide emotional support to patients and family members (i/a) under stress.
* Fill out and update patient documents and charts in applicable systems/ filing areas.
* Assist in maintaining full inventory with the Nursing Management.
* Administer and explain medications to detox and RTC residents.
* Administer IV fluids.
* Monitor and report on resident sleeping, eating, etc as needed.
Administration:
* Speak with doctors and give them the reports and updates on detox and RTC of residents.
* Call in all medication from the pharmacy.
* Follow up with pharmacy on orders received.
* Deliver medications to residents.
* Work within the following systems: MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint Knowledge of Lightning Step and Quest.
* Working knowledge of all standard office/ medical equipment.
