The Spencer Academies Trust is a multi-academy trust with schools across the East Midlands, and with a strategic focus on Nottingham and Derby.
Role Overview
At St Giles, we love to grow our own staff. We have had a lot of apprentices over the last few years who have become teaching assistants within our school once their apprenticeship has finished and then some have developed further into becoming a HLTA (higher level teaching assistant) which involves running their own interventions and covering teachers.
Key Responsibilities
* Working closely in a class team to support the teaching and learning needs of the pupils.
* Promoting our CiC drivers in the classroom by accessing the community, encouraging pupil independence, and ensuring they develop their communication skills.
* After time, support, and training, being creative in your thinking to help the class by making resources, generating ideas for the provision, and adapting teaching to ensure pupils stay engaged.
* Supporting the teacher with the daily uploading of photos and striving for a world-class environment for our pupils.
* Our staff will say that no two days are ever the same, and that is why they love working at St Giles!
* Apprentices will achieve a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and will receive off-the-job training through a blended learning package.
