Field Operator, Agriculture Description We are working alongside our repeat client in the Regenerative Agriculture sector based in York who are looking to hire a Field Operator, at entry level. The client Our client are an expansive Regenerative Farming Consultancy, who’s purpose is to provide Farmer’s with the correct decisions towards improving their sustainability. Location: York The Role You will travel to customer sites across the UK with some of our hi-tech GPS-guided RTV vehicles, operating our precision hydraulic soil sampling systems and soil scanning equipment, taking samples and scanning data from arable/grassland sites, and preparing these samples for laboratory analysis. You will receive full training. Requirements\Qualifications A safe, courteous, and confident driver with a full clean UK driving license. Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Personable yet professional and courteous manner when dealing with customers, with excellent communication skills. Punctual and capable of managing a busy work schedule and solving problems independently. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to stay away overnight occasionally, as required. Good level of basic computer and mechanical comprehension practical ability and willingness to learn. A basic understanding of farming practices. Responsibilities Extensive travel to customer sites across the UK to undertake soil sampling and field scanning services (involving overnight stays as required) Always representing the company when onsite and respecting customer property. Operating a Polaris or Kubota rough terrain vehicle (RTV) with a mounted Wintex Agro hydraulic soil sampler/soil scanner. Taking soil core samples and scans safely, with due care and attention to detail at all times. Collating and preparing soil samples for laboratory analysis, including carefully labelling and handling samples. Maintenance and light mechanical work to ensure machinery always remains in full and safe operational status. (Training and support will be given by our in-house engineer) Reporting any major mechanical and/or safety issues with all equipment promptly. Occasionally supporting the wider precision farming team in field trials or research work, as required. Benefits We offer a competitive package, subject to experience On-the-job training.
