Overview of the Post
The Handyperson will play a vital role in supporting individuals within the community by supplying and fitting warm home measures to improve energy efficiency and comfort. This includes installing thermal curtains, radiator reflectors, draught-proofing, and other small-scale interventions to help service users stay warm in their homes.
Additionally, the role involves delivering winter warmth packs to vulnerable individuals. The Handyperson will work closely with the Warm Connections team to ensure a high-quality service tailored to the needs of clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supply and fit warm home measures such as thermal curtains, radiator reflectors, and draught-proofing materials
2. Deliver winter warmth packs to vulnerable individuals in the community
3. Assess homes for small-scale energy efficiency improvements and provide practical solutions
4. Provide advice on maintaining warmth and energy efficiency within the home
5. Identify and report any significant home issues that require specialist intervention
6. Maintain accurate records of work completed and report to the Team Leader as required
7. Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety regulations
8. Work collaboratively with the Warm Connections team to provide holistic support to service users
9. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and adhere to proper usage guidelines
10. Undertake relevant training to improve skills and ensure compliance with industry standards
11. Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns regarding vulnerable clients
12. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as requested by management
