Are you an ambitious electrical engineer used to working on high-voltage systems and interested in working in the fast-moving world of maritime decarbonisation?
SYR is supporting a leading brand at the forefront of cleaning up the way we travel by sea, and as part of this growth, they seek an Electrical Design Engineer capable of working at a high level. With their systems ranging from wind propulsion to foiling systems, hybrid drives to full electrification, the electrical engineering role will offer you one of the most diverse day-to-day roles within a high-tech engineering consultancy.
Working in a collaborative manner across projects, your involvement may vary massively from one project to another, but your expertise will always be required and your boundaries of understanding and innovation pushed to their limits.
Working with both internal and external stakeholders, your role will see you:
1. Design, specify and engineer a host of high-level electrical systems for use in high-stress environments
2. Work with shipyards and shipbuilders to integrate your electrical systems into their existing electrical architecture
3. Design to a host of hazardous and marine-specific regulatory requirements
4. Ensure top quality schematic output
5. Be the electrical authority across all assigned projects
As an individual, you'll have 8+ years of experience in the design of high-tech and complex electrical design and installation projects, ideally to ATEX standards. Degree qualified in electrical engineering, you'll have exposure to control systems, panel design, and integration into existing architecture, and be confident working with a host of CAD systems. A team player, you'll be keen to get stuck into each project and provide your expertise across all levels of the organisation.
Joining a team of close to 50, you'll be offered an excellent earnings and support package with a host of benefits and a chance to work on first-in-class projects. Your colleagues will make up some of the best in the worlds of high-performance projects, so you'll constantly be learning and evolving.
