As a Scientist within our In-Vitro Biology team, based in Portishead, you’ll be tasked to work under supervision, on a variety of integrated drug discovery projects through the application of practical scientific knowledge to execute different lab-based techniques. This role is an initial 12 month fixed term contract.
What You'll Be Doing
* Run a wide range of immunological assays using techniques such as flow cytometry, IncuCyte, MACS sorting, culture and differentiation of primary cells and cell lines, ELISA, Luminex, TR-FRET, and ex-vivo tissue processing.
* Prepare data analysis and reports for issue where conclusions/future directions have clear scientific rationale. Appropriate next steps are included, as applicable.
* Assist in innovation projects which produce traceable marketing material.
Skills and Experience
* As a minimum, a BSc with a biological focus.
* Proven industrial lab experience.
* A dynamic and flexible approach towards achieving objectives and meeting challenging deadlines is required, as is the ability to communicate confidently and concisely.
* Being able to work to tight timelines and the ability to modify workflow.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Proficient in IT.
It would be advantageous, but not essential if you have:
* An MSc in a relevant discipline
* Skills and understanding of flow cytometry, cancer immunology and sample handling.
* Hepatitis B Vaccinated.
* Complex immunology experience.
* Demonstrable practical skills in executing biological assays in a pharma/biotech/CRO environment.
* Previous industry experience in the labs, ideally from pharma/CRO/biotech.
