Working Pattern:
Working hours: 36.25 (flexible working is available around school caseload commitments, Term time and part-time also available (minimum 4 days per week).

About the Role:
You will work as part of a team of Connexions Advisers providing information, advice, and guidance to young people in school, sixth forms, and for those who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET aged 15-24. The role will be mainly school-based providing independent and impartial careers guidance to pupils from Year 9 to Year 13 with a focus on those in transition at Year 11. You will support schools' careers education programme and attend parents' evenings and careers events. You will be in regular contact with Education and Training Providers, Colleges, and Employers to support application processes. For young people with additional support needs, you will ensure they are able to access appropriate opportunities. You will provide support and work closely with other partners to make referrals in order to meet specific needs e.g. mental health, housing, substance misuse, etc.
About You:
You must have a minimum Level 6 or higher Careers Guidance qualification for this role. You will need recent relevant experience of delivering careers guidance in educational settings. You will have a thorough understanding of the education and training opportunities available to young people. Your excellent communication skills will be utilized with your caseload of young people. You will have empathy and motivational skills to help the young people move forwards. You will have excellent organisational and IT skills in order to manage your caseload and record all interventions. Your style and approach will reflect our values and behaviours: you will be committed to continually learning & improving the way you do things to ensure effective outcomes.

Additional Information:
The role is mostly school-based, so you will have to be available to work a normal school day; however, you will need to work flexibly to meet the needs of schools, young people, and the service which may require late afternoon and occasional early evening work e.g. parent evenings.
An enhanced DBS check with children/adults barred list check will be required.
