Job Title: Support Worker
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Turning Point in Carlisle. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Developmental Disorders, and Acquired Brain Injuries.
You will work alongside new and experienced staff in our supported living service, providing varying levels of support to residents, including personal care, mobility, medication, daily tasks, and promoting independence in the home and community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote independence and support daily activities, such as cleaning, cooking, and arranging outings.
* Develop residents' life skills and personal interests.
* Ensure residents stay safe and healthy, assisting with personal care needs and manual handling when necessary.
* Support medication management and maintain accurate records.
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless care provision.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in social care, particularly supporting individuals with challenging behaviors.
* Passionate, caring, and enthusiastic approach.
* Flexible, patient, and non-judgmental attitude.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Able to complete physical aspects of the role, including manual handling.
* A full, clean driving license is highly desirable.
