As a Senior IT Cloud Engineer, you will be a technical expert leading the delivery of our cloud initiatives, supporting the driving of IT Excellence aligning to our ambitious growth strategy, be at the forefront of technology decisions during M&A activities and enhance the reliability, security and performance of our cloud and on-premises architecture. What you will be doing.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Maintain and optimize our Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
2. Review current and future cloud/infrastructure environments for security and performance.
3. Identify vulnerabilities, upgrade needs, and improvement opportunities.
4. Collaborate with IT Security to re-configure and patch Cloud applications, services, and network devices.
5. Design and implement a Global Infrastructure Plan for optimal performance and compliance (GDPR etc).
6. Lead infrastructure documentation efforts and support the IT Documentation Library.
7. Support business system integrations with our infrastructure.
8. Act as Technical Lead for project delivery and innovation exploration.
9. Manage and maintain SharePoint Architecture.
10. Serve as a 3rd Line escalation point for infrastructure issues.
Mergers & Acquisitions:
1. Lead technical aspects of all M&A technology projects.
2. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements.
3. Plan, develop, and implement integrated infrastructure solutions.
4. Identify, communicate, and mitigate technology risks.
5. Perform other assigned duties as needed.
The role is based within the UK (other UK locations considered) with occasional travel to help and assist specific regional offices when required.
The candidate should have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom. However, we are still considering applications outside the UK and relocation will only be considered for the right candidate.
What we are looking for.
To excel in this role, you should have extensive experience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure, and strong leadership skills to guide and mentor a technical team. A deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, security and M&A technology tasks, combined with a strategic vision to align IT capabilities with business growth, is essential.
In addition, you will have:
1. BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2. Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (or equivalent for other cloud solutions).
3. 5+ years in a similar infrastructure role.
4. Proven experience managing technical cloud and infrastructure projects.
5. Experience managing multi-national infrastructure platforms.
6. Skilled in on-prem to cloud migration projects.
7. Experience with M&A technology integration or complex infrastructure design and implementation.
Competencies and capabilities:
1. Expertise in Azure Cloud design, implementation, and management, along with strong data management and Azure storage solutions.
2. Proficient in on-premises infrastructure, including SharePoint, O365, networking, and backup/restore for infrastructure resilience.
3. Skilled in Active Directory, AADDS, AAD, group policy, and domain controllers, and committed to continuous infrastructure improvement.
4. Experienced in IT systems analysis, implementation, and evaluation, and familiar with IT Change Management principles and cloud solution design.
5. Enthusiastic about the latest cloud technologies and experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks, Mimecast, Cisco Meraki, and database technologies (MSSQL, Oracle).
6. Excellent English communication, strong organizational and project management skills, with proven problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities, and a customer-focused approach.
