Main duties of the job
The position is part of a fixed term project for 2 years for per week. The End of LifeCare Legacy Mentor is an experienced healthcare professional. They will behelping newly appointed staff or staff and students in training, by imparting theirknowledge, skills and experience through coaching and clinical supervision.
They will needto demonstrate empathy and patience, be passionate about our clinical servicesand be able to provide pastoral support to others. We can all reflect on the importance ofmentors and role models in our own careers, and this is an opportunity to havethat kind of influence on the incoming generation as they set out on a careerin health and care. As well as providing ongoing support to continuingprofessional development.
This role willbe key in supporting our colleagues to stay and to stay well. Legacy Mentorswill need to be confident in building relationships and collaborating withothers. They will be providing coachingand mentoring and will be given any necessary training to develop this skill.They will be the lead for health and wellbeing across the organisation.
In addition tomentoring newly qualified professionals, they will also support practiceplacements for learners, and liaise with other practice placement support staffto ensure consistency of support across the setting.
