Job Purpose
This is a key position for a Refrigeration Engineer - PPM, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across several site locations. You will be the first line in all annual legal refrigeration PPM maintenance throughout Cambridge and Northampton. To effectively maintain service and repair Refrigeration Equipment in customer locations and provide assistance to HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits when required.
Key Accountabilities
1. Identify non-repairable faults promptly and advise the Line manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacements.
2. Ensure PPM schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and according to laid-down procedures.
3. Be aware of regulations and codes of practice applicable to the tasks.
4. Order and fit parts or components as prescribed by company procedures.
5. Advise the GSMs of any repair, maintenance and installation issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store and build rapport, promoting the spirit of partnership with all GSMs.
6. Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk, assess the requirements of the job, and carry out repairs as necessary.
7. Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the refrigeration supervisor/RFM.
8. Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the City Management Team.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Suitable Maths & English qualification.
2. Time Served Apprenticeship.
3. NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Based Qualification.
4. Professional/Academic/Vocational Qualifications.
5. Approved Training Program.
6. Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 (F Gas) or equivalent CITB certificate.
7. Skill Card.
8. Specific Knowledge: Refrigeration, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Mechanical, Ability to Read Drawings, Health and Safety legislation, Applicable Codes of Practice.
9. Specific Skills: Equipment Diagnostic Skills, Equipment Repair Skills.
Specialist Requirements
1. Ability to work at heights.
2. Competent in the use of Access Equipment.
3. Current Full driving licence essential.
4. Available for Out of Hours Working.
5. Participation in Standby Rota.
6. Suitable Personal Tool Kit.
