Class 1 HGV Driver (Nights)– Are you an HGV Driver looking for a new opportunity? Spider is advertising for an independent, privately owned, and operated logistics business based in Ipswich with depots throughout the UK and Ireland, working as part of our nationwide distribution operation. They are looking for a Class 1 HGV Driver to join their Ipswich depot for night trunking to their pallet network hubs Monday – Friday.

About the role:
The Class 1 HGV Driver will be responsible for operating the vehicle in the most efficient methods for both fuel and equipment. Supervising the loading and unloading of goods, loads strapping and security, and to always ensure adequate safety and security. Be the company ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Submit vehicle checks on at least a daily basis, noting any defects and ensuring you are always operating safely and legally.
* Comply with all governing law and in-house regulations and rules.
* Provide clear POD whether written or electronic for each consignment.
* Communicate with the traffic office any issues and accidents in a professional and constructive manner.
About you:
The successful Class 1 HGV Driver will hold a full UK driving licence with Category C+E (formerly class 1) entitlement and a current/valid CPC. Previous experience in a similar role is preferable but not essential as we pride ourselves on offering a good induction programme for the right candidate. You must have excellent communication skills and a courteous and professional manner. You will be expected to keep the vehicle safe, clean, and tidy at all times. An ADR licence is desirable though not essential.
This is a full-time, permanent position. Working hours are Monday to Friday working a minimum of a 9-hour night.
