Working hours: 8.30AM - 4.30PM, or flex from 9AM - 5.30PM, with a one-hour lunch. On-site. Salary: £25k - £30k, dependent on experience Your new role The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for contract invoicing, credit control, financial tasks, accounting support, and maintaining effective communication within the finance department. Key responsibilities include: Sales Ledger: Creating and updating invoices, managing credit control, preparing weekly aged debtors reports, handling on-hold and allocation reporting, and processing expenses. Contract Ledger: Raising applications and processing cost transfer journals. Bank: Allocating cash. Sales & Purchase Ledger: Maintaining customer and supplier accounts. Purchase Ledger: posting overhead invoices and reconciling statements. WIP: conducting project reviews and posting committed costs. Assisting with cash flow schedules and supporting the rollout of planned system and process upgrades What you'll need to succeed Sales, purchase ledger, and credit control maintenance experience. Finance and accounting knowledge. Strong communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a finance team. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage. Relevant qualifications in finance and accounting - AAT, or equivalent Experience in the construction industry or a project-driven environment is advantageous but not essential.
