Occupational Therapist (Band 6) - Acute Medicine Locum contract Monday - Friday, 08:00-16:00, 37.5 hours per week £25 - £27p/h NHS Hospital in Derby We are recruiting an Occupational Therapists (Band 6) for our NHS Client to join the Acute Medicine Team at Royal Derby Hospital. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment, managing a diverse caseload across Respiratory, Renal, Cardiology, Liver, Gastro, and Endocrinology wards. You will play a vital role in discharge planning, rehabilitation, and equipment provision, ensuring patients receive high-quality, person-centered care. Key Responsibilities: Manage a varied caseload of patients with complex medical needs, including fast-track, dialysis, COPD, diabetes, and pressure damage. Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored intervention plans Lead discharge planning and facilitate smooth patient transitions using pathway knowledge. Attend handover meetings, prioritising and planning daily tasks effectively. Identify, prescribe, and issue adaptive equipment to support patient independence. Requirements: HCPC registration and relevant qualifications in Occupational Therapy. Recent acute inpatient ward experience essential. Strong skills in discharge planning and complex case management.
