About The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring goods and services to meet business needs while ensuring cost efficiency and quality compliance. You will play a key role in supplier management, contract negotiation, and improving procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Attend trade fairs, shows, and demonstrations to research new product lines and suppliers.
2. Review supplier catalogues and stay updated on market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
3. Assess budgetary limitations and customer requirements to determine the type, quantity, range, and quality of goods or services to procure.
4. Identify potential suppliers, assess bids, and negotiate competitive prices.
5. Assist in contract negotiations, ensuring that all details of goods and services are clearly specified.
6. Evaluate and enhance supply networks, presenting innovative ideas to senior management.
7. Ensure that all procured items comply with order specifications, monitor the quality of incoming goods, and manage returns for faulty or unsatisfactory items.
8. Monitor supplier performance to ensure procurement targets are met.
9. Work closely with merchandisers to allocate stock and develop sales forecasts.
10. Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports as required.
Requirements & Qualifications
1. No formal academic requirements, but A-levels, BTECs, or degrees in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field are advantageous.
2. Professional qualifications in Procurement at Levels 3, 4, or 5 (e.g., CIPS) are highly desirable.
3. Previous experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management is preferred.
4. Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
5. Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
