Multi Skilled Operator – Carlisle (Hespin Wood, Mechanical Biological Treatment plant)
Salary: £31,609.50 per annum
37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with a requirement to provide Operational shift cover as required
This is an exciting time to join our team at Biffa, as we announce this new role at our MBT facility, reporting to the Operations Team Leader. You will help us to continually achieve our diversion from Landfill, provide Operational stability by supporting MBT functions and undertake environmental monitoring for compliance with the site environmental permit. In this hands-on position, you'll ensure operational stability by supporting various MBT functions and assisting with crucial environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with site permits, all while contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
Your key responsibilities:
• Provide Operational support to the site Weighbridge, Driver/Loading and Control Room functions.
• Undertake/assist where necessary, daily environmental monitoring (Training will be provided)
• Work in accordance with Biffa policies, site safety tours, including the reporting of close calls & incidents
• Comply with changes to company standards and legislation
• Providing assistance/light maintenance of engineering equipment
• Ensure the highest level of housekeeping is maintained
Requirements
Essential criteria for the role:
• Previous mobile plant experience (E.g. Telehandler, Ro Ro, Shunter vehicle, MEWPS & Road Sweeper).
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance, including Permit To Work training.
• Good people skills; be able to communicate at all levels throughout the company and externally
• Full UK car driving license.
• Knowledge of MBT operations is desirable
