What you need to know about the role The Ecommerce Team have come a long way in the last few years at The Gym Group with a whole programme to serve the best user experience on our website, take data-driven decisions to optimise the way we merchandise our products and a refined strategy to acquire new gym members that come from our different channels. You will assist with developing and deploying the organic strategy across the website, coordinating the expansion and optimization of the brand new blog, and applying the best practices in local SEO to our listing management system. This role should appeal to someone who is genuinely passionate about Search Engine Optimisation, improving website visibility, driving organic traffic, and enhancing the overall user experience wit a specific focus on local audience. As an SEO Executive you will: Assist in executing on-page and off-page SEO strategies to improve search engine rankings, increase organic traffic, and enhance site visibility. Conduct thorough keyword research to identify high-value search terms and optimise content accordingly. Collaborate with the various teams to create and optimise web content and blog posts that align with SEO best practices. Monitor and resolve technical SEO issues, including site architecture and crawl errors. Optimize Google Business profiles, ensure consistency of NAP and other data points across all online directories, and develop strategies to improve local search visibility and rankings. Use SEO audits to identify areas of improvement and ensure adherence to SEO best practices. Understand website performance using tools like Google Search Console, GA4 and other SEO tools. Identify SEO strategies used by competitors and recommend adjustments to the current strategy. Work closely with the Ecommerce, Digital Trading, Marketing, digital product and other teams to align SEO efforts with overall marketing goals. About you 1-2 years of experience in an SEO role. Demonstrated experience with local SEO strategies, including optimising Google My Business profiles, managing online reviews, and improving local search rankings. Experience with listing management tools such as Yext, PinMeTo or SEMRush local tool. Experience in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or similar platforms. Experience with keyword research tools and techniques to identify and target relevant search terms. Ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions. High level of attention to detail, particularly when optimising content and analysing SEO data. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate SEO concepts and strategies to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Desirable skills: Experience in e-commerce or a similar industry. Understanding of content management systems (CMS) like Amplience, WordPress, Shopify, or similar platforms. Strong copywriting skills with the ability to create compelling, keyword-rich content that engages and converts.
