ROLE SUMMARY
The Quality Control Inspector is actively engaged to ensure products produced meet customer requirements and that quality control systems are maintained throughout manufacture. Inspectors will have day-to-day responsibility for working with staff in Quality and Technical departments, while progressing jobs with engineers and machine operators.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure quality control systems are maintained and followed.
2. Carry out first/last off inspections against engineering drawings and 3D models on production batches, New-Products & Prototypes.
3. Carry out final dimensional inspections against engineering drawings and complete applicable reports, including CTQs (Critical-to-quality dimensions) & FAI (First-article-inspection).
4. Conduct visual & function checks as required on piece-parts and assemblies.
5. Perform sample inspections and spot-checks on production work as required.
6. Provide training to all SPM staff on inspection equipment.
7. Support the inspection department to ensure the calibration system is maintained.
8. Assist the inspection department to ensure inspection machines & equipment are serviced and maintained.
9. Collaborate with production operatives to achieve product conformity.
10. Work with the production team to meet customer due dates.
11. Create and complete customer-specific inspection reports using IPI inspection computer software and the company MRP system.
12. Act as a customer-facing inspector as required.
13. Generate reports for the quality manager as required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
1. Understanding of engineering drawings.
2. Previous experience of using CMM.
3. Previous experience and knowledge of handheld inspection equipment & shadowgraph.
4. Experience of using gauging.
5. Computer literate.
6. Previous experience working with geometric tolerance, OGP, and Vicci Vision equipment is desirable but not essential.

3. Good timekeeping.
4. Maintain good working practices, ensuring all first-off inspections are completed promptly and ready for shift operators.
5. Uphold Company policies including, but not exhaustive of, eating and drinking policy, mobile phones, and IT equipment policies.
6. Implement Health and Safety policy, which is relevant to his/her section.
WORK PATTERN
* 7am-3pm Mon-Fri
* Break time - ½ hour lunch break
* (¼ hour breakfast break if starting at 7am or before)
