Here is an opportunity for a Qualified Nurse to join the team on the Rehab wards 1 & 2 at The Royal Northern Infirmary (RNI). The post is a fixed term contract for 3 months covering a career break. Nurses working here are committed to ensuring patients reach their rehab potential, working collaboratively with a highly skilled Multidisciplinary Team. The wards offer rehab for adult patients admitted directly from the community and also from the acute health care environments. The aim of the wards is to facilitate patients’ physical rehab needs and support patients in their discharge planning, which may require a change in home circumstances. Vacancies on ward 1 and 2 do not come available very often as team members choose to stay and flourish in a supportive environment and team. The ward offers the opportunity for Nurses to develop and further consolidate nursing skills. The post is based on a rotational shift pattern both days and nights. There is an induction period and a supportive preceptorship program designed to support the individual needs of the successful candidate. The RNI is based on the picturesque banks of the River Ness, close to both leisure facilities, city centre, and transport links to the Highlands area. If you are a dynamic individual who is passionate about patients reaching their rehab potential, you are the person we are looking for.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
