Salary: £44,011 - £49,231 per annum* and a relocation allowance of up to £6,500* plus, excellent benefits. Additionally, we pay a retention bonus of up to £10,000 over 3 years.
Hybrid Working - full time 37 hours per week
The Front Door for Sandwell Children’s Trust (Early Help Desk and Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) includes collocated professionals from: Black Country Women’s Aid, Health, Education, Housing, Mental Health, Police and Probation. We are a single point of contact for Children’s Social Care and Targeted Early Help Services enabling members of the public and professionals to raise concerns about the welfare of children when seeking help as a preventative measure or having identified a risk of significant harm.
MASH receives all referrals for Sandwell children and families and also receives calls from concerned professionals, anonymous callers and members of the public. Following management oversight and direction, Qualified Senior Social Workers complete relevant screening to decide next steps and the type of response required. MASH may share information, offer advice, recommend Early Help intervention or statutory Children’s Social Care services.
As a Qualified Senior Social Worker within MASH you will:
* Communicate effectively with individuals and families, explaining decisions in a clear manner and providing advice.
* Demonstrate empathy, compassion and an ability to respectfully challenge whilst interpreting what can be complex information and circumstances.
* Work closely in partnership with professionals from a variety of different sectors.
* Share and gather information efficiently and make timely decisions for children who need help or are at risk.
* Have an ability to interpret information and search databases for information regarding children including for information sharing purposes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of actions taken and decisions ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance etc.
* Provide reports when required by court.
You will be:
* Social Work qualified and have completed your ASYE.
* Have at least 2 years post qualifying experience.
* Have a good understanding of risk assessment and thresholds.
* Have experience of making prompt defensible decisions.
* Have an ability to work to fixed timescales. Be able to relate positively to colleagues and partner agencies.
