Technical Services Manager
£50,000 - £55,000 + £5,200 car allowance

I’m currently recruiting for a Technical Services Manager to lead a technical team at a large estate in Manchester. You will be in charge of technical compliance and KPIs across the estate, delivering a strong service to the customer in planned and reactive maintenance, as well as lifecycle works.
A key part of the role is ensuring the contract does not incur financial penalties by being compliant and timely with the offering and managing the engineering team, ensuring they have the right skills and are able to complete the KPIs in line with SLAs.

Duties of the role include:
1. Management of 2 Supervisors – one mechanical and one electrical - who will manage a 24/7 engineering provision, providing strategic staff guidance and management.
2. Owning and managing the engineering processes on site, ensuring a high level of service and that works are done in line with KPIs and SLAs.
3. Reporting and analysis of KPIs to identify improvements.
4. Strategic management of the team, driving team culture as well as improvements of results and advancement of the estates.
5. Working towards net zero targets, actively identifying opportunities to operate in a more energy-efficient manner to reduce carbon footprints and make the estate greener in its function.
6. Working closely with HTMs to understand the depths of the contract and ensure technical compliance on the site-specific kit (including HV/LV, UPS, CHP, water, pressure systems, heating, chilling, and refrigeration).
7. Attend high-level meetings within the business and with the client.
8. Working alongside the SHEQ Manager to ensure all technical and hard services actions are completed in line with H+S guidelines.
9. Working alongside the contract compliance lead to ensure KPI reporting is accurate and in line with the contract.
The ideal applicant will have the following skills and experience:
1. Mechanical or electrical background (time served)
2. Experience working in an estate with large M&E kit – Hospitals, but Data Centre, schools, and university experience is also good.
3. PFI experience advantageous or experience of complex contracts/KPIs
4. Good people management skills
5. Strong strategic skills
6. Excellent communicator
7. Driving License
8. Positive and motivated attitude to create a culture of going the extra mile and continuous improvement in the team
