Job summary An exciting secondment/fixed term opportunity has arisen within the York and Selby Adult Community Learning Disability team for a competent, confident and enthusiastic Clinical Specialist Nurse to cover a 12 month period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously in a fast paced environment and provide clinical leadership within the team working alongside the Team Manager utilising skills to support team members, the role also maintains the offer of nursing assessment and intervention within a defined caseload. The post holder will be part of a resilient and professional team working collaboratively with internal and external partners to support the needs of individuals with a diagnosed learning disability and their family /carer needs. The team are friendly, professional, and innovative. They have a common interest in living the trust values, to support adults with learning disabilities to enhance their quality of life and emotional wellbeing. Main duties of the job Leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery of robust evidence based practice. To ensure high professional standards of nursing practice in accordance with the NMC code of Conduct To provide nurse led diagnosis and treatment planning. To undertake ongoing audit of care and service delivery, underpinned by research and evidence-based practice. To support the ward or team manager and other senior clinical staff in establishing and maintaining high standards and continual improvement within the established governance framework.
