Job summary
An exciting secondment/fixed term opportunity has arisen within the York and Selby Adult Community Learning Disability team for a competent, confident and enthusiastic Clinical Specialist Nurse to cover a 12 month period of maternity leave.
The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously in a fast paced environment and provide clinical leadership within the team working alongside the Team Manager utilising skills to support team members, the role also maintains the offer of nursing assessment and intervention within a defined caseload.
The post holder will be part of a resilient and professional team working collaboratively with internal and external partners to support the needs of individuals with a diagnosed learning disability and their family /carer needs. The team are friendly, professional, and innovative. They have a common interest in living the trust values, to support adults with learning disabilities to enhance their quality of life and emotional wellbeing. Coproduction and collaboration are key drivers of the team's work ethic.
Strong team working is essential, requiring networking with a variety of people, as well as working in partnership with a range of different agencies both internal and external to the team.

Main duties of the job
1. Leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery of robust evidence based practice.
2. To ensure high professional standards of nursing practice in accordance with the NMC code of Conduct
3. To provide nurse led diagnosis and treatment planning.
4. To undertake ongoing audit of care and service delivery, underpinned by research and evidence-based practice.
5. To support the ward or team manager and other senior clinical staff in establishing and maintaining high standards and continual improvement within the established governance framework.
6. To participate in clinical/professional and management supervision
7. To contribute to multi-disciplinary team working
8. To use system one electronic patient record system
9. To abide by all Trust policies and procedures
10. To be able to respond flexibly and creatively to challenges

Qualifications
Essential
11. Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only)
12. Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.
13. Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving
14. Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area Or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years and
15. Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber)
16. And have Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience (see below under experience), together with evidence of relevant CPD
