Highways Operative – Ivybridge
Our clients are looking for Highways Operatives to join their hardworking dedicated team in Ivybridge.
Key Responsibilities:
Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.
Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the for the day to day tasks set.
Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.
Essential Skills:
Driving License ideally clean some points accepted
A commitment to Health and Safety.
Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
CSCS Card.
Desirable Skills:
Highways experience.
HGV licence.
New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) not essential
Operative Accreditation Lantra 12D not essential
Rate of Pay:
£11.50 - £13.50 per hour depending upon experience.
Overtime at 150% after 40 hours
These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from.
Accrued Holiday Pay from day one.
Pension contributions (after a qualifying period).
Weekly Pay.
No Umbrella payments or fees.
Only Tax and National Insurance deductions and this will be shown on your payslip.
