We are looking for a Full-Time Secondary Teaching Assistant, specializing in SEMH to join a lovely Secondary school in the Salford area. This role would be due to start ASAP and would continue until at least the end of the new term, potentially turning into a perm contract with the school.
Responsibilities:
* Provide full-time support to children with social emotional mental health (SEMH) challenges within a secondary school setting
* Assist with the implementation of behaviour management techniques and interventions to support students' emotional well-being
* Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes positive engagement and encourages social interaction
* Offer one-to-one support to students who require additional assistance with academic, social, or emotional skills
* Encourage independence and personal development through differentiated activities and tailored interventions.
Requirements:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
* Enhanced DBS on the update service
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children from diverse backgrounds
* Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
* A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional growth of children with SEMH challenges
* Previous experience working in a school setting supporting children with special needs (SEN) would be beneficial, but not necessary.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
