Job summary The Department of Laboratory Haematology is spread across 4 sites at 3 hospitals in Oxford and Banbury, and the successful candidates would work as part of a team at the Oxford and Banbury sites of the Trust. Self-development is encouraged with access to a number of postgraduate courses. The Department is both UKAS 15189 and HCPC accredited. We are looking to recruit to Band 6 posts to support the broad workload across the Department. The post is unlikely to support Sponsorship for work visa if required. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be HCPC registered and completed or making good progress towards Specialist Portfolio or equivalent. The successful candidate will have an interest in Haematology and / or Blood Transfusion; they will rotate through all sections, covering the full range of Haematology and Blood Transfusion. Equipment in Haematology is Sysmex equipment across all 4 sites. Blood Transfusion has networked Blood-Tx and integrated Remote Release to a greater extent than most sites in the UK. The Oxford University Hospital Haematology has a more diverse range of testing being carried out than many other Hospitals with a variety of specialist workload being referred in, and training in appropriate specialist sections may be given, over time, as required. A flexible approach to working hours is required; staff will be expected to work on all sites as required. The Haematology Department is a 24/7/365 operation and staff will be expected to work a variety of hours to meet the needs of the service.
