Role Overview The Workforce Capability Manager will lead the development and delivery of workforce capability and planning strategies. You’ll help ensure that as the project grows, the right people are in place at the right time — equipped with the skills needed to perform. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you'll oversee workforce planning, capability transition (particularly from Hinkley Point C), and training oversight to support operational readiness. This role is part of the functional leadership team within the Employment Affairs Unit, reporting to the Head of EAU. You will work cross-functionally alongside leads in workforce mobilisation, skills & education, industrial relations, and operations. You’ll have the opportunity to build your own small team, including a workforce capability lead. Key Responsibilities Lead SZC's workforce capability strategy across the construction lifecycle Deliver and maintain a robust workforce forecasting framework Oversee planning and relationships for the workforce transition from HPC to SZC Ensure workforce skills are aligned with construction and operational needs Track and assess supply chain workforce capabilities and gaps Oversee the development and delivery of relevant training programmes on site Drive compliance with workforce commitments made to local authorities and communities Engage and collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders Provide data-driven insights to inform workforce related decisions with supply chain partners About You Essential Experience & Skills Proven background in workforce capability planning or strategic workforce management Experience working on large-scale infrastructure, construction or regulated projects Strong understanding of competency frameworks, training delivery and capability building Exceptional stakeholder management across complex, matrixed environments Experience working with or overseeing supply chain workforce requirements Ability to develop strategies based on data, project needs and regulatory commitments Desirable Experience CIPD membership or equivalent experience Industrial Relations experience and Trade Union engagement Experience working in a matrix organisation Previous involvement in education/training facility set-up or oversight Background in large-scale construction sectors such as nuclear, water, transport or utilities Degree or equivalent in HR, Construction Management or a related discipline Professional certifications in workforce planning or project management are advantageous but not essential Key Attributes Clarity: Able to communicate with purpose and alignment Solidarity: Collaborative, with a team-first mindset Respect: Inclusive and open to feedback Positivity: Committed to improvement and delivery Humility: Willing to learn, adapt and engage with others' views Why Join Sizewell C?
