Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a warm and inclusive school in Southampton. This is a full-time, long-term role, starting immediately or in January, supporting ASD learners in Key Stage 2.
Role Details:
- Location: Southampton
- Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
- Salary: £100 - £130 per day (inclusive of holiday pay at 12.07%)
- Start Date: Immediate or January
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare.
- Passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Strong ability to manage behaviour effectively.
- Team-oriented approach with dedication and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), assisting with their academic, social, and emotional progress.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised learning plans tailored to students' needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging independence and active engagement in classroom activities.
- Support the development of communication and social skills using appropriate strategies and resources.
- Assist with personal care tasks as required, ensuring students' well-being and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular updates to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Work closely with parents and carers, sharing insights and progress updates to build positive relationships.
- Engage in professional development to stay informed about best practices for supporting students with ASD.
- Adhere to school policies, including safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
