A leading Civil Engineering Contractor operating in the Water and Utility Sectors is looking for you to become their SHEQ Advisor, based on multiple sites across the Yorkshire Region. Due to the nature of the projects within the framework, you must have relevant experience working on civil engineering projects, preferably in the water and utility sectors.
Reporting directly to the Head of SHEQ, you will be responsible for all aspects of health and safety in this company and on site. You will also be:
1. Ensure that SHEQ services are rendered to stakeholders effectively and efficiently.
2. Advise and assist operational teams in meeting client and legal requirements.
3. Provide expert advice on specialist areas e.g. fire safety, hazardous substances, noise, HAVS.
4. Conduct general risk management for site operations and related areas.
5. Perform SHEQ inspections and audits to ensure compliance with legal and client standards.
6. Provide SHEQ input to the subcontractor/supplier approval process.
7. Identify SHEQ hazards, risks, opportunities, and process improvements.
8. Contribute to effective policies and procedures.
9. Coordinate accident investigations, ensuring timely reports and root cause analysis.
10. Identify incident learnings, actions, and update procedures with the SHEQ manager.
11. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of remedial actions.
12. Ensure workers understand SHEQ procedures and report concerns to managers.
13. Advise on SHEQ best working practices and procedural requirements.
14. Contribute to SHEQ training needs analysis and training content/delivery as necessary.
15. Provide monthly reports on SHEQ performance.
16. Produce SHEQ newsletters, toolbox talks, bulletins, and presentations.
17. Represent the company at client SHEQ meetings and forums.
18. Participate in SHEQ and project meetings at various levels.
19. Deliver SHEQ elements of general induction training.
20. Maintain professional development and actively participate in performance reviews.
21. Stay updated on SHE legislation and company SHEQ policies.

Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum NVQ level 3 / NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Working knowledge of ISO management standards, particularly ISO 18001/45001.
* Environmentally/quality aware, and willing to expand knowledge in these areas.
* Good MS skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Construction/utility/highways experience, particularly in respect of health and safety.
* Full and clean driving license.
