We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join our expanding R&D team. In this role you will develop highly complex designs targeting the latest FPGA architectures.
The successful candidate will be experienced and able to innovate and deliver in a fast paced and busy environment and enjoy working on leading edge digital designs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Developing new high-speed FPGA based designs and/or updating existing designs to support new product features as per specification.
2. Estimating timescales based on an outline of the requirements and delivering to those timescales.
3. Providing guidance to less experienced members of the FPGA design team.
4. Support quality-oriented activities to deliver a product that will delight our customers.
5. Learn the domain and hence appreciate the real life use cases of our product features.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
1. Educated to Degree level in Electronics or equivalent subject.
2. At least 7 years of experience with high-speed FPGA designs in VHDL.
3. Ability to define digital architectures from a product specification.
4. Ability to work closely with others in a multi-discipline team.
5. Ability to solve complex problems.
6. Detail oriented and driven to deliver in dynamic environment.
Experience in any of the following specific areas will also be beneficial:
1. Large, complex designs on Xilinx Ultrascale+/Versal or Altera Agilex devices.
2. FPGA designs with complex clocking architectures or Gigabit Transceivers.
3. Knowledge of Ethernet packet structures or Telecoms Framing structures.
4. Simulation with QuestaSim and/or ModelSim.
5. Familiar with Verilog and System Verilog.
6. Board level schematic design incorporating Large FPGAs, Microprocessor, High speed memory.
