What you will do: You will carry your own caseload and be expected to work autonomously within the support of a registered Occupational Therapist. You will have a clinical remit to offer Occupational Therapy interventions within North Ayrshire to patients of the Children and Young People Team. You will work to support the people of North Ayrshire who experience complex physical and mental health conditions and will utilise occupation and activity to provide person-centred interventions to support the development of independence in meaningful activity within the persons home and in their local community. You will communicate effectively with the wider multi-disciplinary team, autonomously adjust interventions to meet current needs/ identified risks, support the development of innovative models of care; evidence based practice and strengths based approaches within teams. You will work with registered Occupational Therapists to deliver interventions that support local and national drivers in improving patient and carer experience. Line management supervision, caseload allocation and service development will be undertaken in collaboration with a Registered Occupational Therapist. There is an ongoing commitment to providing dynamic professional and clinical supervision which meet our wider staff and service needs. Active engagement with peers across services is supported as is multidisciplinary working. You will be trained to HCSW/SVQ or HNC level or have equivalent training or experience. Support and development is promoted and encouraged through a variety of forums including participation in practice development groups, in house and external training.
