Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all types of vehicles to Lothian & DVSA standards
Diagnose and rectify all types of faults, mechanical and electrical
Use diagnostic equipment and software to locate, diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical and electrical components
Understand the fundamentals of existing and emerging mechanical and electrical designs and systems
Attending vehicle breakdowns as and when required
Liaise with the parts department to obtain correct parts
Ensure health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
Ensure all paperwork and inspection sheets are completed in a timely manner
Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
Who are we looking for?
You must possess a full UK driving licence
You must be a time served motor vehicle mechanic
A PCV licence is desirable, however the ability to obtain a PCV licence whilst in our employment is essential
An aptitude to develop others within the engineering team to improve efficiencies
Ability to work under pressure and work as part of a team
A flexible approach to working hours
Experience of working in the truck or bus industry would be advantageous

We are looking for a Rota Shift Mechanic to join our busy Engineering Department across the Lothian Family in one of our City garages!
This is a permanent role for a fully qualified mechanic with experience. You will be working a 4-day week on a 4 over 7 days pre-allocated shift rota, working 37.5 hours per week.
