Brief Description
This is an exciting time to be part of the Southern Region Works Delivery Team, as we take on major infrastructure improvements in the years ahead.
Control Period 7 (CP7) brought about the opportunity to deliver capital works in new ways. Network Rail has taken the opportunity to build upon the lessons of other major programmes and portfolios to drive greater value and efficiency into project delivery and created the Southern Renewals Enterprise.
Works Delivery is one of the five partners in this Enterprise with a workbank of 1.3bn this Control Period, delivering schemes across Track, Signalling, Telecommunications, Electrification & Plant, Buildings and Civils. About the role
Team Leader [Works Delivery Track]
Are you a natural leader who thrives in a hands-on environment? Do you have the skills to organise, motivate, and drive a team to deliver high-quality infrastructure work? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader [Works Delivery Track] to join our team!
Based at Eastleigh, as a Team Leader [Works Delivery Track], you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery. You'll be responsible for leading a skilled team, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring all work meets industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, motivate, and organise your team to ensure safe and efficient work delivery.
2. Establish and maintain safety arrangements for all staff, including contractors.
3. Carry out work in line with safe systems of work, procedures, and method statements.
4. Supervise and check the quality of work, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
5. Monitor staff competencies and ensure the correct tools, vehicles, and equipment are in place.
6. Accurately record and report work completed.
7. Support team development through training and coaching.
8. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
What We're Looking For
1. Proven leadership experience in organising and delivering safe, efficient work.
2. Strong understanding of safe systems of work and industry regulations.
3. Ability to motivate, guide, and inspire a team.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Experience in Track inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.
6. Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3 preferred) or equivalent experience.
7. Full driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
