ABOUT YOU
As a Welder Fabricator, you will require knowledge of, fabrication, manufacture, fitting, assembly, welding & machining of equipment, materials & structures to allow the speedy introduction of a DUT to a propulsion test cell.
Required skills and experience
1. Fabrication
2. Welding (TIG, MIG etc), plasma cutting etc.
3. Machining (lathe, mill, surface grinder)
4. Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems experience and modification
5. Metal work, drilling, cutting, bending etc.
6. Good logical & practical problem-solving skills
7. Good IT literacy skills
Desirable skills and experience
8. Paint/spraying/coating experience
9. Knowledge of propulsion test cells
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Welder Fabricator, you will provide experience/support to the Project Support & Facility Engineers during upgrade & modification works. The key scope of the Welder Fabricator role is fabrication, manufacture, fitting, assembly, welding and machining of equipment, materials and structures to allow the speedy introduction of a DUT to a propulsion test cell.
Key responsibilities:
Technical, hands on, practical & PC-based tasks, which include:
10. Fabrication of framework and fixtures to allow install of DUT to test cell.
11. Modification of exhaust systems, plant/chiller pipes, fuel lines etc
12. Instrumentation of turbos, catalytic converters, motors, plant pipes, cylinder blocks etc
13. Manufacture of bespoke adaptors & fittings
14. Pressure/leak testing of systems and subsequent repair
15. Drilling, cutting, assembly & fixing etc
16. Work requests close off and management
17. Email communications
