Main duties / Responsibilities - To oversee colleagues carrying out the required pre-employment health screening of prospective employees including telephone and face to face reviews to provide recommendations for managers in supporting staff with long term health conditions or disabilities. The post holder will also be responsible for undertaking assessments of more complex cases. - To be proactive in the implementation of the organisations positive attendance and Health and Wellbeing policies, including monthly case review meetings with HR/Workforce representatives to work proactively to support staff and managers in preventing recurring sickness episodes. - To provide support to individual employees to facilitate return to work, advising the organisation on rehabilitation/reasonable adjustments in the workplace to sustain a successful return to work. - To be responsible for providing advice and reports to managers and employees in relation to the role and function of Occupational Health and Wellbeing in the workplace. - To provide advice on work place risk assessments in relation to Health and safety with the organisations Health and Safety Officer, specifically DSE, Stress, Pregnant worker risk assessments. - To support and liaise with the OH Admin role to manage a case load effectively and proactively based on referrals to the service. - Identify staff who require specialist assessment with an Occupational Health Physician and liaise with external OH Services for these referrals. - Deliver an ongoing campaign of workplace vaccination for staff as relevant to their role, e.g. Hepatitis B vaccination, surveillance and boosters. - To work closely with external Counselling and Physiotherapy referral services and internal services for Complementary Therapies for staff and collect data from staff satisfaction surveys to assess the quality and benefits for staff wellbeing from these services. - To work closely with internal and external specialist advisors ensuring appropriate referrals to access services are completed. - To participate in development and review of all documentation used within OH to meet the needs of the service. - Support and empower members of staff to use available services, information and skills to the full and to participate in decisions concerning their care. - To respond and advise managers to provide urgent support for staff who may need intervention to access or receive immediate care or advice. - Where required advise on reasonable adjustments as required by the Equality Act 2010.
