Due to a recent internal promotion to Senior Leadership, we wish to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Science to join our Lower Academy. This is a unique opportunity to join a successful split-site academy as part of a supportive team. The post is open to teachers of all levels of experience, including ECTs.
Our school features state-of-the-art science labs and resources that promote hands-on learning. You'll have access to advanced equipment and technology to enrich your lessons and bring science to life for your students, along with support from our dedicated science technicians.
The Science department is highly engaged in organising extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, science fairs, and educational trips to research labs and museums. The ideal candidate will share this enthusiasm to inspire students to achieve outstanding outcomes.
What the school offers its staff
Our academy operates across two sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst The Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5. The appointed Science Teacher will begin their BA career at the Lower Academy.
We pride ourselves on being a truly inclusive academy and this is actively underpinned by our motto ‘Aspire Believe Achieve’.
We are looking for colleagues who share the drive and passion necessary to ensure every student achieves their potential.
The Academies offer staff tailored and effective support to meet their professional development needs, ensuring they are provided with opportunities that challenge them at a high level. All staff take ownership of their own learning journey and are given opportunities to reflect on their own practice, as well as supporting others through being members of Teacher Learning Communities. There is an open-door culture that encourages teachers to 'drop in' on colleagues, therefore promoting good practice within the schools. We are dedicated to the SSAT Embedding Formative Assessment CPD programme for the next two years, while also supporting staff in advancing their expertise and leadership through a variety of internal and external programmes, including the complete range of NPQ courses. Our strong track record demonstrates our success in developing staff from ITT to Headship.
Commitment to safeguarding
The Basildon Academies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect their staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to DBS checks.
