Client:
I am working with a leading international financial institution renowned for its innovative approach and extensive global presence. This opportunity offers the chance to join a highly skilled legal team reporting directly to the General Counsel responsible for Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC). You will play a pivotal role in supporting the institution's markets and securities services operations, mitigating legal risks, and advising on regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Role:
* Provide expert legal advice on global market activities, including FX Cash, FX Options, Commodities, EM Rates, and occasionally Rates and Credit matters.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across Sales, Structuring, Trading, COO teams, and Compliance to deliver practical legal solutions.
* Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of legal documents, including complex contracts and transaction-related agreements.
* Monitor and respond to changes in legal and regulatory frameworks, advising the business on potential impacts.
* Manage relationships with external counsel, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.
* Partner with regional and global legal teams across Europe, Asia, and the Americas to address strategic legal issues.
* Develop standard documentation and processes to enhance team efficiency.
* Update senior management on emerging issues and regulatory developments relevant to the business.
Profile:
* Qualified solicitor with at least 4 years' post-qualification experience in global markets or related fields.
* Proven expertise in drafting, negotiating, and managing high-value, complex legal matters.
* Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks affecting financial markets.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels.
* A proactive and pragmatic approach to managing legal risks and supporting business objectives.
* Experience in public procurement, subsidy control, or judicial review is a plus but not essential.
