YMCA Robin Hood Group provides responsive and preventative support to children, young people and adults across Nottinghamshire and
East Riding, providing support to the communities we work within. From Supported Accommodation, Childcare, Health & Well-Being
and Residential Children's Homes through to sports facilities and hospitality, we operate a wide range of services which generate
a surplus that we reinvest into our not-for-profit Association.
As we continue to strengthen our Finance department, we are now looking to bring a Financial Accountant into our team to lead the
statutory accounting and audit reporting for YMCA Robin Hood Group. You will also be responsible for all balance sheet
reconciliations for all business units and legal entities within the Group.
You will be responsible for leading and delivering the core finance operations as follows:
* Financial accounting (in accordance with Charities SORP)
* Accounts receivable
* Accounts payable
* Treasury Management
* VAT compliance
* Systems improvements
* Transactional information to support Management Accounting

the future.
On a day to basis you can expect your role to include:
1. Working closely with the Group Chief Financial Officer and Head of Finance ensure delivery of YMCA Robin Hood Group’s planned
financial position each year.
2. Provision of regular formal balance sheet analysis and supported by the production of accurate and timely monthly financial
accounting reports to the ELT and Board.
3. Ensure robust systems of governance (financial, staff, audit and information) and risk management is in place.
4. Ensure adherence to accountancy standards, Inland Revenue, Charity Commission and Homes England rules and guidelines and any
other regulatory requirements.
5. Lead on planning and delivering of the statutory accounts for YMCA Robin Hood Group and its subsidiaries/partners across the
organisation in line with SORP charity regulations
6. Consider, plan and manage the organisations VAT status and reporting under a changing and complex operating model to meet
legislative requirements.
7. Lead on cash management for YMCA Robin Hood Group to ensure sufficient cash is available on a daily basis for the
organisation to meet its commitments.
8. Develop systematic cash planning systems that are integrated with YMCA Robin Hood Group’s overall revenue and capital
financial plans. Ensure planning is continuously reviewed and improved by comparing actual to plan.
9. Critically appraise systems and process redesign to ensure that controls are tightened and therefore improve the audit
outcomes aiming to deliver ‘Full Assurance’ on all core financial systems.
10. In collaboration with the Head of Finance manage and report on all financial risks and a develop a programme of work to
mitigate the risks.
This role would suit you if you are part or fully qualified Accountant with extensive experience in financial accounting and
Audit.
We are looking to see in your background that you have:
* Substantial experience in balance sheet reconciliations.
* Proven experience of developing and implementing financial control procedures
* Experience of effectively managing transactional finance procedures and balance sheet management
* Experience of Treasury Management
* Ability to interpret complex data and presenting findings in a simple and easily understood format to a variety of audiences

We have offices in Nottingham City Centre (behind the Malt Cross pub which is one of our hospitality venues!) and also within our
Community and Activity Village in Newark. The expectation would be that you work in either or both locations with 1 day working
from home inline with our hybrid working policy. However, there may be times when you are required to travel to both Nottingham
and Newark for meetings, events and training.
