Your purpose: As the head of department you will report into the Executive Director of Estates and Facilities ensuring you are leading the way for excellence in the Health, Safety and Environmental You will work closely with other senior management team as collaboration is a huge focus ensuring the estates team are working towards the same vision As head of department you will provide strategic management, supervision and implement policies and procedures that best serve the site staff and end users and manage department’s budget Ensure that compliance standards are met and always attained reporting on any issues immediately You will be the lead competent person for all Health, Safety and Environmental questions or concerns for the client and other team members Representing the team in all board and senior leadership meetings Manage the risk and ensure that a safe environment is created with everyone taking an active responsibility for the Health, safety and environment raising awareness with regards to any possible risks Prepare all report, plans and presentations and making recommendations to Executive Leadership team Investigate serious accidents/Incidents and may occur and ensure the right process is followed with action plans put in place and be the key contact for insurance reasons You will demonstrate you knowledge through presentation with the team and ensure you are always up to date with any key changes in legislation or policies and offer new ideas and innovation to the staff Over see key training and inductions for relevant staff Maintain all registers and conduct all audits across the site to ensure everything n is delivered in line with compliance and support with emergency procedures Ensure the governance framework, best practice and maintain high standards and fostering collaboration Requirements for the role: Previous experience within the same or similar role essential ideally operating at a senior of head of department level Relevant qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH and Leadership and Management highly desirable Strong communicator with ability to present at various levels from frontline through to board level Experience in establishing Health & Safety legislation and implementing new procedures Environmental sustainability experience
