We have a new opportunity for an Apprentice Maintenance Operative based in our care home in Poole, The Laurel’s & Pine Lodge. As an apprentice maintenance operative, you’ll receive on-the-job training and be mentored by an experienced trades professional, while gaining valuable knowledge in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, plastering, painting, tiling and more. You will assist with a wide range of maintenance tasks, including performing fault diagnostics, carrying out repairs, conducting compliance checks, and ensuring health and safety standards are met. Key responsibilities: Attend college off-site training to obtain your Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 qualification Complete required coursework, documentation, and pass the end point assessment Assist with various property maintenance tasks under supervision, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and more Conduct compliance checks using I-Auditor and adhere to the building safety regulations Implement health and safety practices, manage risks, and ensure the safe use of tools and equipment Communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and residents Participate in continuous professional development and training sessions Skills and Qualifications English and Maths functional skills Great organizational skills and good attention to detail Ability to work well with a variety of different people Collaborative approach to work and the ability to adapt to changing priorities Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team Excellent communication skills and ability to use IT systems A keen interest in property maintenance and repair work.
