We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Clerical Officer to join us in our busy Radiology Department
You will be based at Ipswich General Hospital, full and part time roles are available. Service hours cover 8am to 8pm, 7 days per week, this role involves working a 12 week rota including evenings and weekends. These may change in the future upon needs of the service.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, together with proven clerical ability. Being able to work under pressure is essential as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
• To provide a full reception service to visitors to the Radiology Department, in liaison with the departmental staff to ensure patients and other visitors are dealt with efficiently and in a friendly manner.
• To attend all patient visits using the Computerised Radiology Information System (CRIS), to include the scanning of request cards.
• To accurately register and change patient details using Careflow and to check the whereabouts of inpatients and to request patients notes when required.
• To deal with telephone enquiries from patients and other callers efficiently, whilst maintaining a friendly manner.
• To monitor the ‘Radiology Requests’ email inbox and print off/ action all requests in order of urgency and load to CRIS.
• To assist with the training and development of new staff within the department.
• If double registrations are established flag up on system and complete form on the Radiology intranet.
• To work closely with the Operational Co-Ordinator with any other Admin/Clerical Duties.
• To run a computer generated report on all referrals that have been rejected by our clinical team and to advise the referrer of the rejection reasons
