Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum
About the role:
People lead for the organisation, driving and leading Organisational Development, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Talent Acquisition, Diversity and Inclusion, Reward and Recognition, Facilities Management and the Employee Value Proposition. A trusted advisor to the CEO and the leadership team.
What you will be doing:
Organisational Development
* The provision and management of a performance management process – focused on aligning objectives to the strategic pillars, development plans and the Motability values.
* The provision and management of cost-effective development solutions to support employee and organisational development.
* Oversee and report on mandatory training to ensure organisational compliance.
* Management of external providers.
Employee Relations
* Management of all matters relating to employee relations to ensure employment law compliance.
* To ensure regular review and improvement of the people processes and policies.
* To lead in respect of managing employment tribunal cases – this includes liaison with legal representatives, ACAS, and all relating correspondence.
* To ensure the application of best practice approaches and to lead / coach / support the HR Business Partners in the application of these approaches.
* To advise and guide organisational structural change processes – providing support to the leadership team to develop solutions / outcomes.
Employee Engagement
* To lead the organisational employee survey process – including the management of subsequent action plans at department and organisational level.
* To lead in respect of the Motability Values to ensure they feature as part of day-to-day life at the Motability Foundation.
* To chair and lead the Motability People Forum to ensure a meaningful and valued contribution to people led initiatives.
* To provide sponsorship and support to the Wellbeing Champions, Social Squad and Diversity and Inclusion forums.
* To oversee and manage the relationship with Investors in People.
Talent Acquisition
* Management of the Talent Acquisition team and end-to-end recruitment.
* To support the team to ensure a best practice approach.
* To drive direct hires and reduce agency / consultancy spend.
* To ensure we achieve the right hires and secure good talent retention.
* To deliver a culture of internal career progression.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
* Create and ensure a continued organisational focus on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
* Ensure a continued focus on Disability.
* To proactively work towards reducing pay gaps (gender, disability, ethnicity).
* To proactively work with the Business Disability Forum.
Reward and Recognition
* To lead with the CEO on the annual pay review and subsequent report / recommendations to the Remuneration Committee.
* To ensure the provision of competitive / cost effective benefits.
* To proactively promote employee benefits and to drive up utilisation of these benefits through promotion and awareness.
* To oversee the Spotlight Awards.
* To oversee and ensure compliance in respect of the payroll process and associated areas.
Facilities Management
* To provide leadership to the Facilities Manager and Facilities Team.
* Overseeing Facilities to ensure a proactive level of service is delivered to the organisation in respect of all facilities associated support.
* Oversight of compliance in respect of health and safety, environmental, contracts and all facilities areas for both the Foundation and as a Landlord to Warwick House.
* To support and coach the Facilities Manager in respect of Business Planning, Budget Management, objective setting, project delivery and people issues.
Compliance and Reporting
* Negotiate and manage external relationships (including providers, legal, accreditors, facilities contracts, benefit providers).
* To ensure governance compliance in respect of contracts, policy reviews, etc.
* Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets for HR and Facilities, (currently £3m).
* Ensure relevant safeguards are in place to protect both the staff and reputation of Motability.
* Formulate and implement HR and Facilities policies and procedures.
* To proactively provide meaningful data to leaders and managers (quarterly people metrics, and the Facilities dashboard report).
* To create and present the annual Workforce Report to the board.
* Chair of the Health & Safety Committee and Motability People Forum. Lead role in respect of the Pensions Committee (supporting the Finance Director) and other committees.
About you:
Must haves:
* Level of intellectual requirements implies likely to be qualified to at least degree level with relevant CIPD qualification.
* Significant experience at a senior level of HR and supplier management, preferably in a commercial customer focused environment.
* Practical experience of negotiating contracts and relationships with key suppliers.
* Practical experience of implementing Health and Safety governance and frameworks.
* Practical experience of leading organisational and cultural change.
* Experience of developing remuneration strategy.
* Experience designing and managing learning and development frameworks.
* Broad up-to-date knowledge and experience in employment law, Health and Safety legislation, employment policies and all aspects of employee relations.
* Broad knowledge and experience of job design, job evaluation, compensation and benefits.
* Experienced in preparation and management of budgets.
* Awareness of Government, economic and business issues.
* Ability to assimilate technical pension information.
* IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience of HR systems.
* Strategic thinker with ability to translate the Motability strategy into operational actions.
* Ability to motivate and inspire throughout the organisation and at all levels.
* High level influencing skills, interpersonal skills.
* Ability to diagnose issues, identify and implement solutions.
* Ability to drive high performance culture.
* Ability to exercise high level of confidentiality.
* Role model of company culture and disability confidence.

Extra Information
* Role based in Harlow on a Hybrid basis. Occasional need to travel to other locations for meetings, training courses and seminars.
