To be an essential part of SMI’s own delivery service team providing exceptional customer experience when meeting customers at delivery points. This role requires a full time candidate to be available Monday to Friday reporting directly into the Dispatch Manager. Timely and accurate deliveries are essential to maintain the high standards SMI continues to deliver to its customers. It’s important that there is a good dialogue open between yourself and the customer and to be able to problem solve quickly to support the customer’s needs. Areas of Responsibility: Responsible for all Pre-van Health & Safety checks Sending all expenses receipts to Accounts department Support Loading vehicle in the morning Ensure the van is washed Weekly Delivering parcels and goods to customers on designated routes To support customers with handling their parcel to a convenient delivery point Reporting customer issues and concerns back to your manager or customer feedback form All failed deliveries communicated to your line manager Build good rapport with customers at all delivery locations Act as a professional representative of SMI during journeys and on delivery of goods Deliver and unload goods in accordance with health and safety standards Ensure all PODS are completed, including Signature of recipient and photo of goods on site To follow the Optimised Route via Maxoptra and achieve the drop times to the best of your abilities Complete any administration required in relation to the collection/delivery of goods Up to 20 Drops per day covering up to 200miles Desired knowledge, skills and abilities: Proven history and success in a similar role Operating system MaxOptra To be able to use Android devices for delivering & collecting consignments A clean UK driving licence and excellent driving skills To comply to the FORS Silver Standard, and complete any training, if required Standard ‘right to work’ checks are required A customer service focus Good Punctuality and reliability Skills Good interpersonal skills The ability to remain calm and professional Good verbal and written communication skills Stamina and concentration when driving long distances Ability to plan routes efficiently (Although mainly system driven) Attention to detail Ability to work in a team and a self-motivated environment Enjoyment in driving Additional information: Salary of £30,450 per annum 50 hours a week including breaks 06:00 - 16:00 33 days annual leave including bank holidays Entry into the company 'growth by sharing' bonus scheme following probation Benefits package Company Van & Fuel Provided SMI are an equal opportunity employer.
