We work in an agile/hybrid way, providing staff with the equipment needed to work effectively from home, with most people in our team attending the office one or two days per week (sometimes to take advantage of Bevan Brittan's regular social events!).
Key Responsibilities
* Provide proactive and efficient administrative support across a range of HR activities.
* Work closely with the Recruitment team to coordinate and ensure an efficient on-boarding process. This includes carrying out DBS/ Right to Work checks, obtaining references, processing relevant new joiner documents and planning inductions.
* Answer queries in the HR team inbox, escalating when necessary to more senior members of the team.
* Input data accurately into our HR system and produce ad-hoc data reports as required.
* Processing of benefits such as private medical insurance, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loans and childcare vouchers.
* Assist with the administration of HR processes for example, family leave, contractual changes and leavers.
* Work together with the team to help identify and implement process improvements.
* Provide administrative support on key HR projects and cyclical processes such as the annual salary review and appraisal process.
* Work with other members of the team to maintain an efficient, accurate electronic filing and archiving system that complies with GDPR requirements.
* Other administrative support as needed, e.g. arranging ad-hoc meetings and appointments.
What we are looking for from you
The ideal candidate will have:
* Administration experience, ideally within a professional services environment. Previous HR experience is desirable, but not essential.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with technical knowledge of formatting documents.
* Organised approach with the ability to multitask and prioritise own workload effectively.
* Able to coordinate with other members of the HR team to ensure that all tasks are completed on time.
* Quality and customer service driven, with a concern for accuracy and an eye for detail
* Team oriented and collaborative with a flexible approach.

Acting responsibly, now and for the future
To us, being a responsible business is second nature; a core part of Bevan Brittan's identity. Our colleagues are heavily involved in shaping and delivering activity across the four pillars of our Responsible Business strategy: Community Engagement; Environmental Sustainability; Equality, Diversity & Inclusion; and Wellbeing.
Our people deliver pro bono legal work for charities and not-for-profit organisations. We play an active role in our local communities and donated £100,000 across our four regional office charities last year. We are also proudly carbon neutral. We've achieved the UN's Climate Neutral Now accreditation and our environmental sustainability plan focuses on achieving our net zero carbon target by 2040.
Collectively, the four pillars ensure we look after our colleagues' wellbeing; offer an environment in which everyone can progress on merit, give something back to the communities in which we work; and protect the environment.
